ICT Assistant: Network Administrator: Security & SupportJob TitleNetwork Administrator: Security & SupportDivisionInformation Communication & TechnologyDepartmentInformation Communication & TechnologyPosition Reports ToHead of ICTPosition SupervisesNonePurpose of the Job Network Administrator: Security & Support reports to Head of ICT and is responsible for assessing information risk and facilitating remediation of identified vulnerabilities for IT security and IT risks across Kenya Tea Packers. Coordinates ICT system support in liaison with the Database Administrator (Business Intelligence and Reporting), ensuring secure network connectivity, integrity, and security of company systems.Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesEstablish optimal network performance by evaluating connectivity KPIs – availability, utilization, throughput and latency. Plan and execute selection, installation, configuration, and testing of ICT equipment.Monitor and manage all communications and resolve networking problems through effective preventive measures.Report findings and recommendations of identified vulnerabilities to the Head of ICT for corrective action.Perform vulnerability assessments using IT security tools and methodologies to report IT security/risk exposure.Establish network specifications by analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; design router administration including interface configuration and routing protocols.Maintain network performance by monitoring, analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and escalation to vendors as necessary.Secure network by developing access controls, monitoring, evaluation, and maintaining updated documentation.Periodic review of Firewall rules, configurations, and logs with Head of ICT; enhance cyber defence by defining access privileges and control structures.Assist ICT Manager in recommending updates to ICT policies, Disaster Recovery Plan, ICT strategy, BCP, and SOP.Manage ICT helpdesk system: entry, update, follow-up, and provide efficient support to all users.Provide basic training and support for network access and software applications; maintain documentation for all information system processes.Work with vendor support to review SLAs and resolve technical problems with hardware, software, and MPLS/internet.Ensure all PCs, laptops, and servers on the network are running licensed/updated operating systems and endpoint security solutions.Ensure computers interconnect seamlessly with associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, and administrative systems.Assist in formulation of annual ICT CAPEX and OPEX training budgets in liaison with Head of ICT.Perform other duties as assigned by the Systems Administrator or Head of ICT.Key Result AreasDesign, deploy and administer network infrastructure, security architecture, and support systems.Penetration testing and vulnerability assessments on information systems and infrastructure.Manage day-to-day threat and vulnerability management activities.Provide technical support for end users.Plan installation and implementation of new hardware and software, including firmware and application upgrades.Liaise with vendors to resolve software and hardware errors and bugs.Core CompetenciesHardware: Excellent knowledge of computer hardware and integration with computing systems and databases.Networking: General knowledge of network connectivity, integration, and protocols.Software Development: Knowledge of development theories, methodologies, and standards.Operating and Database Systems: Installation, upgrading, tuning, monitoring, and administration.Problem Solving: Ability to apply knowledge of technologies to achieve effective solutions.Communication Skills: Ability to understand and communicate complex technical concepts.Organizational Skills: Ability to effectively organize and prioritize duties.Knowledge and Skills RequiredBachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.At least five (5) years of experience as a Network Administrator and/or Systems Administrator.Network & Security Certification: CCNA, CEH, or CISSP.Hands-on experience with network installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.Excellent knowledge of network security.Experience with router installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.Application Procedure If you meet the above requirements, please submit your application letter, clearly quoting the position title, an up-to-date CV, copies of academic and professional certificates, testimonials, and contact details of three (3) referees to:Email: careers@ketepa.comDeadline for application: Tuesday, 7th April 2026 Note: This advert is open to internal applicants only (KTDA and Subsidiary Companies).
