Job Purpose
The Assistant Investigator supports the investigation of complaints and disputes referred by the Head of Investigations, through interviews, fact-finding, and verification of documents, and prepares findings for review.

Key Responsibilities
Case Management
• Receive case assignments from the Head of Investigations.
• Review complaints and develop an investigation plan for each case.
• Conduct interviews with complainants, respondents, witnesses, and other relevant parties.
Investigation and Verification
• Conduct investigations on cases presented, gathering and verifying relevant facts.
• Examine and verify documents presented during investigations.
• Undertake field visits where necessary and collect evidence in line with established procedures.
Reporting
• Prepare accurate investigation notes and reports.
• Maintain investigation files and records.
• Present findings and recommendations to the Head of Investigations.

Qualifications and Experience
• Diploma or Degree in Law, Criminology, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Conflict Resolution, Public Administration, or a related field.
• Prior investigation, legal, compliance, or human rights experience is an added advantage.
• Must be a current or former resident of Meru County or Laikipia County.
• Must be fluent in English, Kiswahili, and Kimeru.
