Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is a State Corporation established through the Science and Technology (Amendment) Act of 1979, which has since been amended to Science, Technology and Innovation Act 2013. The 1979 Act established KEMRI as a National body responsible for carrying out health research in Kenya.Vacancy Requirements: Master’s degree or the equivalent from a recognized University, relevant to the area of study (Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Public Health or related field). Mandatory Proficiency in data analysis software and statistical methods. Mandatory Hands-on experience in field data collection, including supporting data collection efforts and coordinating fieldwork activities. Mandatory A collaborative team player. Mandatory Molecular biology skills such as PCR, RT-PCR sequencing, cell culture, microscopy, field work Mandatory A motivation letter of not more than two (2) pages, outlining the applicant’s academic and professional background, relevant experience in relation to the project and position, motivation for undertaking a PhD, expectations and learning objectives from the PhD programme, and plans and career goals after completion of the PhD.
