The Aga Khan Academy Nairobi is operated by Aga Khan Education Service Kenya (AKESK), a non-profit organization, with close to a hundred years’ experience operating schools in Kenya. Our first formal schools were opened in 1918, and AKESK currently operates 11 schools in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu and Eldoret, serving close to 5,000 students with a quality, affordable education.Key Responsibilities To prepare and deliver engaging swimming lessons aligned with the CBE Curriculum. To collaboratively design and implement student-centered learning experiences. Support students in developing physical literacy, teamwork and healthy lifestyle habits. To ensure students acquire excellent knowledge and skills so that they make progress, achieve their targets and are prepared for the next stage of their careers. Contribute to the co-curricular programme and school events as required. Differentiate lessons in order to match learners’ needs Involve the learners in different learning activities. Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment. Planning swimming lessons that consider students abilities and progressive development. Observe the behavior of children and help them improve it by building self-confidence and teaching social values. Keep record of the swimming equipment available in the school. Motivate and encourage the learners to participate in swimming. The requirements Qualifications and Experience Bachelor Degree in Education (Physical Education) with a minimum of B- in O-levels. Must be registered with Teachers Service Commission (TSC). At least 1-2 years' teaching experience. Must be a trained Swimming Coach with the Kenya Swimming Teachers and Coaches Association. Certification as a life guard and First Aid will be an added advantage.
