Elgeyo Marakwet County covers a total area of 3029.9 km2. It borders West Pokot County to the North, Baringo County to the East, Trans Nzoia County to the Northwest and Uasin Gishu County to the West. The county is divided into three topographic zones namely: The Highlands, Kerio Valley and The Escarpment: all of them separated by the conspicuous Elgeyo Escarpment. The Highlands constitutes 49 percent of the countys area and is densely populated due to its endowment with fertile soils and reliable rainfall.The Escarpment and the Kerio Valley make up 11percent and 40 percent respectively. There is a marked variation in amount of rainfall in the three zones; The Highlands receive between 1200mm and 1500mm per annum while The Escarpment and the Kerio Valley receives rainfall ranging between 1000mm to 1400mm per annum. In altitude, the Highland plateau rises from an altitude of 2700 meters above sea level on the Metkei Ridges in the South to 3350 metres above sea level on the Cherangany Hills to the North Job Description Salary Scale: Ksh.41,420 x 1,470- 42,890 x 1,520 - 44,410 x 1,710- 46, 120 x 1,920 - 48,040x 2,000 -50,040 x 2,290 - 52,330 x 2,350 - 54,680 x 2,550 -57,230 p.m. For appointment to this grade, an applicant MUST have: -  A Bachelor’s Degree in either Commerce (Accounting/Finance option) and passed part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination  OR  Passed Part III of the Certified Public Accountants (K) Examination or its approved equivalent qualification Proficient in computer applications    Requirements & Qualifications Duties and Responsibilities: - Examining all expenditure at the accounts section; Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports e.g. COB reports, expenditure reports, cash flows; reconciling bank statements with cash books; answering audit queries and inquiries; Supervising and guiding staff under him/her and any other duties assigned from time to time.
