FCL serves its customers by provision of Trade finance instruments such as Bank guarantees (Bid bonds, Performance bonds, Advance payment guarantee, letters of line of credit ) and loans destined for income generation/trading purposes. The largest share of FCL’s clients is Youth, Women and PWD’s and operate trade, service and small manufacturing businesses in the informal sector. FCL’s mission is to empower the poor and marginalized groups especially women, youth and PWD’s by providing access to financial and advisory support to explore the fullest human potential and create opportunities for sustenance, development and holistic transformation. FCL offers loans, insurance as well as training and consulting services to its clients. It has a network of of branches across the country and also sales agents spread out across all the counties.Key Responsibilities Develop and implement effective debt recovery strategies to improve collection and recovery performance. Lead, supervise, and motivate the Debt Recovery Unit team to achieve set targets. Monitor the performance of delinquent and non-performing loan portfolios and ensure timely intervention. Develop and track recovery plans for overdue and non-performing accounts. Review recovery performance reports and provide regular updates to management. Identify trends and challenges affecting collections and recommend appropriate corrective actions. Ensure effective follow-up and management of outstanding customer accounts. Work closely with Credit, Risk, Legal, Branches, and other relevant teams to support recovery efforts. Ensure that all recovery activities comply with internal policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. Coach and develop team members to enhance productivity and recovery effectiveness. Escalate complex or high-value recovery cases appropriately and support resolution. Continuously review and improve recovery processes, systems, and approaches. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Law, or a related field. Professional qualifications in Credit Management, Banking, Finance, or a related discipline will be an added advantage. Minimum 4 years’ relevant experience in credit management, debt collection, recoveries, or a related function, with demonstrated supervisory or managerial experience. Strong understanding of loan recovery processes, collections, and portfolio management. Experience in the banking, microfinance, SACCO, fintech, or financial services sector will be an advantage. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver against recovery targets. Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Good knowledge of relevant credit and debt recovery practices and regulatory requirements. High level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
