For generations, we’ve been making many of the world’s most loved and most iconic brands, products and services. We want that to continue for generations to come, and so we know that as a global business we have the opportunity - the responsibility - to help create a tomorrow in which the planet, its people and pets can thrive. As a Mechanical Specialist at Mars, you would be responsible for the execution of maintenance programs for our site equipment and facilities. You will play a crucial role in sustaining and continually improving the operational performance and reliability of our plant equipment by supporting production processes, executing preventive maintenance, and ensuring alignment with our high standards for Quality, Food Safety, Health, and Environment. What are we looking for? Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance systems within an industrial setting, with outstanding troubleshooting and technical aptitude. You must hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent qualification. We want someone who is fluent in English, works well within a team, and has the flexibility to work on both day and night shifts as required. You should have a proactive approach to maintenance, excellent problem-solving abilities, and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). What would be your key responsibilities? Perform expert troubleshooting and diagnosis to repair a wide range of systems, including Gear and Power Transmissions, Drives, Motors, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics. Respond to line breakdowns to minimize disruption to production, while collaborating with engineers to identify and implement long-term process improvements. Implement and continuously review Preventive and Autonomous Maintenance systems, and build our Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) plan. Supervise contractors and suppliers to ensure safety and quality standards are met, and build capability within the team by coaching and mentoring associates. Develop and manage the inventory of mechanical spare parts according to our maintenance strategy. What can you expect from Mars?
