Alupe University College (AUC), which is a Constituent College of Moi University, is one of the newest University Colleges in the Country. It was established through the Alupe Legal Order Gazette Notice No 163 of 24th July 2015. Its Council was constituted vide special gazette notice No.136 of 7th November 2016. It was started following a request by the then Busia North community to the then President of Kenya H.E Hon Mwai Kibaki when he visited the area on 18th September 2007. Subsequently it started as the Alupe Campus of Moi University in 2008. The University College has 200 acres of land in Busia County. It is located 7 kilometres from Busia town on the Busia-Malaba Road. It is 23 kilometres from Malaba town. It is situated in Teso South constituency of Busia County and is the only Public University in the Busia County. It neighbours Uganda and therefore will expand the international student exchange programs including cross border training and research in the East African region. It will work with the neighbouring KEMRI, KALRO and LBDA scientists in teaching, research and service provision to the Kenyan population and in the region. Registered with the relevant professional body (where applicable); Proficiency in Computer Applications Duties and Responsibilities entail to: Formulate and implement university security policies; Coordinate continuous information gathering and intelligence analysis with a view to developing preventive measures for enhanced security of the University's students, staff, assets and operations; Initiate preparation of security training programmes and carry out sensitization initiatives to enhance compliance with security standards and policies; Ensure incident response planning and investigation of security violations, contributing to disciplinary and legal matters associated with such violations as necessary; Develop an up-to-date databank of security incidents and trends and reporting for management information and security action; Liaise with other law enforcing organs/agencies of the government in order to minimize and prevent crime; Initiate programmes and measures to prevent and eliminate encroachment; Maintain close liaison with police on security information and follow up Court Cases; Ensure the service ability of electronic security surveillances appliances plus regular testing of alarm equipment; Participate in Quality Assurance Programmes; Responsible for PC/ ISO/ Strategic plan on security and safety matters; Coordinate the preparation of budget and procurement plan for the section; Mentor, coach and develop security staff; and Undertake any other relevant duties as may be assigned from time to time by the appointing authority or authorized officer.
