The Clinical Officer will be responsible for providing curative, preventive, and promotive healthcare services to patients in accordance with national guidelines and professional standards. The ideal candidate should have a diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery and at least two (2) years of post-qualification experience in a clinical setting. Key Responsibilities:Conduct outpatient and inpatient consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up of patients. Prescribe appropriate medication and treatments in line with the Ministry of Health (MoH) protocols. Carry out minor surgical procedures and emergency interventions as needed. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients. Provide health education and counseling to patients and their families. Refer patients to higher-level facilities when necessary and follow up on referred cases. Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and continuous medical education sessions. Ensure infection prevention and control standards are adhered to at all times. Collaborate with nurses, lab technicians, and other healthcare providers for holistic care. Assist in compiling and submitting periodic medical reports to management. Qualifications and Experience:Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution. Valid registration and practicing license from the Clinical Officers Council. Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualification experience in a busy healthcare setting. Proficient in use of HMIS systems is an added advantage. Knowledge of current clinical practices and guidelines. Key Competencies:Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills.
