Guests can also access nearby attractions such as Thiba River, natural springs, waterfalls, Thiba Dam, birdwatching spots, and Mt. Kenya Forest. Role Description The Guest Relations Receptionist is a full-time, on-site role based in Nairobi County, Kenya, responsible for providing a welcoming first point of contact for all guests. This role includes greeting and checking in guests, managing reservations and room allocations, handling phone calls and messages, and responding promptly to walk-in and online inquiries. The Guest Relations Receptionist will support guests with information about hotel services, restaurant offerings, and local attractions, and coordinate with housekeeping, kitchen, and management teams to ensure smooth service delivery. Daily tasks also include managing the front desk, maintaining accurate guest records, processing payments, and preparing basic reports or logs. The individual in this role is expected to uphold high standards of professionalism, maintain a neat front-office environment, and proactively address guest feedback or concerns in a courteous and solution-focused manner. Qualifications Strong customer service and guest relations skills, with a calm, courteous, and solutions-oriented approach. Excellent communication abilities, including clear verbal and written communication in English (additional local languages are an advantage). Demonstrated proficiency in receptionist duties, including handling check-in/check-out, reservations, and front desk operations. Good phone etiquette and the ability to manage multiple calls, inquiries, and messages professionally. Basic clerical skills, including data entry, record-keeping, use of email, and familiarity with office and booking systems. Previous experience in hospitality, front office, or guest relations is preferred but not strictly required. Comfort with using computers, messaging apps, and social media for guest communication and coordination. Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with reliable time management and punctuality. Diploma or certificate in hospitality, front office operations, business administration is a must.
