On behalf of our client, an accounts and Tax consultancy firm seeks to hire a dynamic Mid-level Accountant to join their Finance team. Budget: Ksh. 150,000 gross
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll & PAYE Compliance Process PAYE (Pay As You Earn) tax and ensure timely submission to tax authorities. Prepare and file statutory deductions, including NHIF, NSSF, and other payroll-related taxes. Ensure compliance with local tax laws and assist in responding to tax audits or queries. Maintain accurate payroll records and reconcile payroll accounts.
- Bank Reconciliations & Cash Management Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash flow tracking. Identify and resolve discrepancies in bank transactions and statements. Process payments, manage petty cash, and ensure proper financial documentation.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable Process and reconcile supplier invoices, payments, and statements. Track customer invoices, follow up on collections, and ensure timely posting of receipts. Maintain proper records of transactions and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- General Accounting & Financial Reporting Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, and tax filings. Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and ledger reconciliations. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS).
- Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting procedures, and tax regulations. Assist in external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Recommend and implement improvements in financial processes to enhance efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree/ Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA (Part II or III) / ACCA qualification will be a plus 3-5 years of accounting experience in a similar role. Strong knowledge of PAYE, tax regulations, and statutory deductions. Hands-on experience in bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and receivables. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
