This Opportunity
Palladium is seeking a Software Developer (OpenSRP, FHIR Integration) to support delivery of a Community Health Digital Reference Platform (eCHIS).
The role focuses on hands-on software development, workflow configuration, and system integration across digital health platforms. The developer will work within an embedded agile team alongside Ona and Palladium engineers to support the build and configuration of a reference application, including community health workflows, analytics integration, and interoperability with national systems.

Reporting Lines
Reports to: Technical Delivery Lead Works closely with: Software development sub-contractor, Palladium product and integration leads Initially, this position will not include direct supervisory duties
Primary Roles And Responsibilities
Configure and extend OpenSRP-based workflows for community health use cases, including surveillance, immunization, and integrated primary care Develop and support system integrations across application, data, and reporting layers Build and maintain APIs and services supporting data exchange between systems Support configuration and integration of backend systems, including FHIR-based data services Contribute to development of data pipelines and reporting integrations, including DHIS2 connectivity Implement and test end-to-end workflows, including data capture, synchronization, and reporting Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and resolve issues across iterative releases Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align implementation with system architecture Document configurations and technical workflows
Essential Criteria
3–6 years’ experience in software development or system integration roles Experience working with health information systems or similar enterprise platforms Familiarity with FHIR or other interoperability standards Experience developing and integrating RESTful APIs and services Strong experience with backend development (Java, Python, or Node.js) Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative delivery environments

Skills
Hands-on experience with API design and system integration (REST-based architectures) Software development experience with Java, Python, or JavaScript for system integration and application development Experience configuring or working with digital health platforms such as OpenSRP, DHIS2, or similar systems Experience with data integration, reporting pipelines, or analytics workflows Strong, proven expertise with interoperability standards such as FHIR or HL7 Proficiency with Agile development practices and tools (Jira, Git) Experience working in low-resource and multi-country implementation contexts
