Role Objective

Our client, managing residential properties within Nairobi, is looking to hire a dependable and hands-on Property Caretaker. The role involves overseeing daily property operations, ensuring proper maintenance, and maintaining positive tenant relations. The ideal candidate should be practical, organized, and capable of handling both supervisory and operational responsibilities.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure cleanliness and proper upkeep of shared areas, buildings, and the surrounding environment Supervise on-site staff including security personnel, cleaners, and other service providers Carry out minor repairs and coordinate external technicians for specialized maintenance work Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs promptly Oversee waste management and maintain required hygiene standards Serve as the primary contact for tenants, addressing concerns and resolving issues efficiently Escalate complex matters to management and provide timely updates Monitor security arrangements and manage access to the premises Keep track of rent payments, follow up on outstanding balances, and maintain tenant records Assist in managing utilities and respond to emergencies as they arise Maintain simple financial records including expenses and basic reporting Prepare regular updates on maintenance activities and property status Support tenant move-ins and move-outs while monitoring occupancy levels Supervise landscaping and general outdoor maintenance Perform any other duties as assigned by management

Job Specifications And Qualifications

At least 3 years’ experience in property management or a similar caretaker/supervisory role Experience handling residential properties or estates Relevant training or certification in Property Management, Building Maintenance, or related field Basic understanding of bookkeeping (rent tracking, expenses, reporting) Practical knowledge of general repairs and maintenance
