We're looking for a Business Development Professional, with a strong technical background in electrical protection and control, energy automation, focusing on influencing the generation, transmission and distribution utilities (IoUs, Munis and CoOps- regulated) and unregulated side of utilities/ESCOs for adoption of Siemens substation automation, protection, secondary distribution automation & renewable integration technologies (microgrids and PV plant controls), driving success for the SIPROTEC and SICAM product portfolios by working with utilities, design consultants, OEMs, integrators and utility centric EPCs within the region.

Siemens Electrification and Automation (EA) business unit plays a crucial role in energy transition, modernization, and digitalization with our technologies in power distribution protection, control & automation, and equipment monitoring, which are centered around the pillars of Safety, Reliability, Resiliency, Sustainability, and Cybersecurity.

This REMOTE position will be based in the Mid-Western or Central United States, preferably with the successful candidate being in the Central Time Zone.

You Will Make An Impact By

Driving innovation in the ever-evolving and rapidly growing Utility space with innovative technologies from Siemens. Driving energy transition and renewable integration technologies. Working collaboratively with our internal sales channels, engineering, bid management, and technical specialists to form an effective and efficient G2M, by bringing forth our techno-commercial expertise on the subject matter. Driving profitable growth of the portfolio in industrial and infrastructure markets.

You’ll win us over by having a combination of the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications

Five (5) or more years of experience in a business development, sales, or technical engineering role specifically in the energy protection & control and energy automation sector. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or related subject area. Proven technical knowledge in electrical power systems, with strong technical acumen needed to be an expert partner to CAMs. Proven ability to connect to senior executives within the Utilities space, connecting technology and innovation with business cases. Experience working on application software associated with Protection & Control and Energy Automation. Demonstrated thought leadership, influencing technology adoption and driving innovation in the Utility space. Willingness to travel 25-50%, ensuring efficient utilization of time and resources. Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering or related subject area or MBA. Knowledge and expertise of emerging concepts including Digital Substations, Cybersecurity and Renewables Integration. Enthusiast of learning new technologies including IoT, Virtualization, AI, and analytics.

The pay range for this position is $98,630 - $169,080 annually with a target incentive of 25% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
