The National Gender Equality Commission is a constitutional Commission established by an Act of Parliament in August 2011, as a successor commission to the Kenya National Human Rights and Equality Commission pursuant to Article 59 of the Constitution. NGEC derives its mandate from Articles 27, 43, and Chapter Fifteen of the Constitution; and section 8 of NGEC Act (Cap. 15) of 2011, with the objectives of promoting gender equality and freedom from discrimination.REF: NGEC/HR/8/3/2026 Remuneration (Basic Salary): Ksh. 59,037 – 94, 904. House Allowance Ksh. 28,000 Commuter Allowance Ksh. 6,000 Annual Leave: 30 Working days per financial year Medical Cover: As existing in the Commission Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT For appointment to this position, the candidate must possess the following qualifications: Requirements for Appointment Served in the grade of Records Management Assistant III for a minimum period of three (3) years; A Diploma in Information Science/ Records Management, information science or relevant qualifications from a recognized institution; Computer Skills; Met the requirements of Chapter six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010; and Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Duties and responsibilities will entail: Ensuring that letters are appropriately filed and marked to action officers; Ensuring proper arrangement and shelving of files; Controlling and opening of files and updating file index; Ensuring security of information/ files in the registry/archives; Up-dating and maintaining file movement registers; and Preparing disposal schedules for inactive files in accordance with relevant government regulations
