Advocacy & Communications Volunteer JOB SUMMARY  The job holder will be responsible for Advocacy, public relations, media relations, and communication activities in addition to creating IEC and promotional literature, branding, advertising, and effectively deploying social media to achieve organizational objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  Brand Management & Development of Information Education Communications (IEC ) Materials  Working in close liaison with relevant staff members regarding format, design, production, fulfilment, data and distribution of all print marketing & advocacy collateral; Support TI-Kenya to have frequent and timely media coverage across all available media; Execution of communications initiatives including launches, exhibitions, campaigns, social media presence, institutional website, public relations, internal communication, regulatory communications and corporate events; Ensure communication materials, campaigns and programmes reach audience targets; Manage brand delivery and consistency across all audiences; Ensure timely production and dissemination of advocacy and communication materials; Maintain a catalogue of all communications materials produced; Work with the Administration department to update and maintain TI-Kenya’s mailing list for purposes of disseminating TI-Kenya advocacy materials and communication; Mobilize participation in TI-Kenya publicity events. Media Relations  Develop and maintain effective relationships with key reporters/editors especially those involved in anti-corruption work and governance issues to ensure frequent reporting of TI Kenya activities and visibility campaigns; Assist in the integration of strategic communication approaches to give TI-Kenya an edge in the media industry. Continually explore opportunities for TI-Kenya’s interaction with journalists and media organisations; Web and Social Media Advocacy  Create relevant content for the website and social media; Create and manage all published content (images, video and written materials including IEC materials, reports and press statements); Develop and community and/or blogger outreach efforts on social media; Design profiles, images, landing pages and other features of Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/LinkedIn/YouTube/Blog among others; Compile weekly monitoring metrics on social media reach to inform the impact of TI-Kenya’s online platforms; Ensure interaction on social media, engaging in debates and responding to questions from the public where appropriate; Monitor and share trends in social media tools and applications Program Support  Provide communications support for activities under the Citizen Demand and Oversight, Public Finance Management and Natural Resources and Climate Governance programmes; Prepare detailed activity reports for internal and external meetings as well as activities attended. Support in conducting regular media monitoring in order to record and follow-up on incidents reported through the Rapid Response Team, A4T, Uwajibikaji Pamoja, Toll-free SMS and number and other platforms in the programme. Establish, manage, and maintain good relations and partnerships with communities involved in the programme initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE  A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Communication Studies, Media, PR, Digital Marketing, or related courses from a recognized university; Minimum related experience of 1 year in media or strategic communications with proven skills in Communication and campaign initiatives. Strong writing and storytelling skills. Basic social media management skills. Confidence in public speaking or event hosting. Basic graphic design skills (e.g. Adobe Suite, Canva). Good organisational and coordination skills. Basic photography or short video documentation skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Attention to detail and reliability in meeting deadlines.
