Tharaka Nithi County Public Service Board (CPSB) is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act, 2012 pursuant to Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010. Section 59 of the County Governments Act 2012 outlines the functions of the CPSB among them being “appoint persons to hold or act in offices of the county public service including in the Boards of cities and urban areas within the county and to confirm appointments”.Requirements for appointment Be a Kenyan citizen; Be a holder of a diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution; Be registered by Clinical Officers Council; Possess a valid Practicing License from Clinical Officers Council; Must be computer literate. Duties and responsibilities The Registered Clinical Officer shall be responsible to the employer and the supervisor for the following:  Taking history, examining, diagnosing and treating patients common ailments at an outpatient or inpatient health facility; Guiding and counseling patients, clients and staff on health issues; Referring patients and clients to appropriate health facilities; Assessing, preparing and presenting medical-legal reports; Coaching and mentoring students on attachment; Carrying out surgical procedures as per training and skills; Onizing health management teams and convening health management committee meetings; viii. Collecting and compiling data for research on clinical services issues; ix. Any other duty that may be assigned by the supervisor.
