Finnet Trust is a leading provider of trusted services in governance consulting, pension advisory, employee benefits, insurance risk intermediation, and training services.Job Purpose To support the finance function by maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, preparing financial reports, and assisting in budgeting and financial analysis. Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Accounting Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including journals, ledgers, and reconciliations. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate posting of transactions in the accounting system. Accounts Payable & Receivable Process invoices, payments, and receipts in a timely manner. Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies. Monitor receivables and follow up on outstanding balances. Bank & Ledger Reconciliations Perform regular bank reconciliations. Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances. Budgeting & Forecasting Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgets and report variances. Compliance & Statutory Requirements Ensure compliance with tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, etc.). Prepare and file statutory returns within deadlines. Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation. Financial Controls Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets. Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures. Payroll Support (if applicable) Assist in payroll processing and ensure accuracy of employee payments and statutory deductions. General Finance Support Support the finance team with ad hoc tasks and reporting requirements. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certification (CPA Part II/III, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred. Minimum of 3 years’ relevant accounting experience. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Odoo, or similar). Key Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Attention to detail and high level of accuracy. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools. Strong organizational and time management skills. Integrity and ability to handle confidential information. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports. Timely completion of reconciliations. Compliance with statutory deadlines. Reduction in accounting errors and discrepancies. Efficiency in accounts payable and receivable processes. Working Conditions Standard office environment. May require extended hours during month-end and audit periods.
