Role Overview The Regional QA/QC Manager oversees the quality assurance and quality control programs across sourcing countries in Africa. This role involves managing dedicated local teams and collaborating with international leadership to ensure product integrity and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities Program Management: Lead the regional QA/QC program in close coordination with international directors and global production teams. Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage QA/QC teams (approximately 10–15 total staff) across key sourcing countries. Process Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to established quality processes, reporting standards, and communication protocols. Performance Tracking: Report on monthly KPIs to reflect program activity and team performance. Operational Support: Assist in improving program manuals and operational documents. Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with local vendors, factories, and agents while protecting the company's interests. Financial Oversight: Ensure accuracy in data for the monthly invoicing process based on deliverables and contract agreements.
Qualifications & Experience Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Quality, Business, or a related field. Experience: At least 10 years of experience in manufacturing (Apparel, Softlines, or Footwear) for a multinational brand or retailer. Leadership: Minimum 10 years of experience managing business operations or large QA/QC teams, including remote management of regional networks. Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of Quality Assurance, Lean Management, and Quality Control systems.
Essential Skills Communication: Fluent in written and spoken English with strong presentation and public speaking abilities. Mindset: Result-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a collaborative, global environment. Integrity: Strict adherence to "Zero Tolerance" policies regarding compliance and ethics. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in business software (spreadsheets, project management, and resource planning tools).
Position Details Location: Kenya, Ethiopia, or Egypt (must have strong international travel connections). Travel: Approximately 40–50% annual travel required, including international trips. Reports To: International QA Director (based in Hong Kong). Direct Reports: 1–5 direct reports; total team of 10–15.
