Conversant with higher education governing laws and regulatory frameworks Key responsibilities also include Duties and responsibilities: Assisting in analyzing the financial, operational and management processes and systems of the University and its affiliates. Evaluates the adequacy of system design, risk management and internal control framework in meeting business, operational and control objectives. Assist in the preparation of risk-based audit plans, under the coordination of the Principal Internal Audit Assurance and Risk Management and ensures comprehensive and quality audit programmes are prepared. Performing Risk Assessment tailored to each area under review necessary for identification, analysis and evaluation of areas of significant weaknesses. Preparation of audit reports detailing identified key control gaps and weaknesses in the system or function being audited and provide innovative and creative recommendations for implementation. Assists in the investigation of significant suspected fraudulent activities within the University and its affiliates Assists in the conduct of special audit assignments as directed by the Head of Internal Audit Provides value added internal consulting services to the University stakeholders. Undertakes any other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time
