We manufacture high-performance, plant-based products for both export and local markets using by-products of the sisal fibre industry. Our core product is a sustainable surfboard blank, with ongoing diversification into additional products and applications. We are a small but ambitious company, focused on innovation, environmental responsibility, and building efficient, scalable manufacturing systems. Role Overview As our operations and product development continue to expand, we are seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee and streamline day-to-day factory and field operations. This is a hands-on role, combining production oversight, team leadership, quality control, and operational planning. The successful candidate will be organised, practical, and solutions-driven, with strong leadership skills and the ability to maintain high production standards for export markets. The role requires working closely with both factory and field teams and being based near the factory. Key Responsibilities Production & Operations Oversee daily production activities to ensure efficiency, quality, and consistency. Supervise quality control processes and ensure products meet required standards. Ensure factory and storage areas are kept clean, organised, and operationally efficient. Raw Materials & Stock Management During Harvest months - manage harvesting operations for raw materials, including logistics and supervision. Monitor raw material stocks and coordinate with supervisors to maintain adequate supply levels. Conduct quarterly stock takes of equipment and manufacturing supplies (e.g. poles, glue, glass, resin). Prepare monthly production, stock, and status reports. Request materials and supplies in advance to avoid production delays. Team & HR Coordination Manage and coordinate production teams, ensuring clear daily tasks and targets. Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and productivity. Report on staff performance, challenges, and development needs. Record staff absences and leave and submit records to the administration office. Address operational or personnel issues as they arise and escalate to the Director. Health, Safety & Compliance Ensure all staff follow established safety protocols at all times. Conduct regular safety training: Monthly refresher training for existing staff Weekly induction training for new staff Promote a safe, respectful, and productive working environment. Required Qualifications & Experience Degree in Production Management or a related field OR a minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a manufacturing supervisory or management role. Strong leadership and team-management skills. Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities. Professional verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of Kenyan employment laws and basic HR practices. Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Valid, clean driving licence. Kenyan citizen, fluent in Kiswahili. Willingness to relocate and work on site near Voi Town in both factory and field environments. Desirable Skills & Attributes Mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of machinery. Experience with carpentry tools and processes. Practical, fair, and approachable leadership style. Ability to work comfortably in outdoor and hot climate conditions. Off-road driving experience. Experience using GPS and basic mapping or navigation tools. Quick learner with a proactive and curious mindset.
