Duties & responsibilities. Service, maintain, and repair self-propelled tea harvesting machines Diagnose and fix mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine faults Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize breakdowns Servicing and repairs, including Complete Overhauls of engines, Transmission, Cooling systems, power transmissions, cooling and other systems. Maintain accurate maintenance and service records Interpret hydraulic diagrams and technical manuals Overhaul hydraulic pumps and motors. Respond promptly to field breakdowns during peak harvesting periods Ensure compliance with estate safety and operational standards Liaise with machine operators and supervisors on machine performance Ensure safe custody of spares, tools and equipment’s assigned. Minimum Requirements Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Plant Option) or a Craft Certificate in Plant Mechanics. At least 5 years’ experience working with tractors, Plant machines and tea harvesting machinery. Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and basic electrics Ability to work independently with minimal supervision  Willingness to work extended hours during peak tea seasons Added Advantage Previous experience in a busy agricultural/ plant machinery setup. Experience with self-propelled harvesters (Valiant or Ochiai tea Harvesters) Valid driving licence (Class B, C, C1) Experience in auto electrical repairs and welding.
