Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) is a state corporation under the Ministry of Health established under the KEMSA Act 2013 whose mandate is: Procure, warehouse and distribute drugs and medical supplies for prescribed public health programs, the national strategic stock reserve, prescribed essential health packages and national referral hospitals Establish a network of storage, packaging and distribution facilities for the provision of drugs and medical supplies to health institutions. Enter into partnership with or establish frameworks with County Governments for purposes of providing services in procurement, warehousing, distribution of drugs and medical supplies. Collect information and provide regular reports to the national and county government’s on the status and cost effectiveness of procurement, the distribution and value of prescribed essential medical supplies delivered to health facilities, stock status and on any other aspects of supply system status and performance which may be required by stakeholders. Support County Governments to establish and maintain appropriate supply chain systems for drugs and medical suppliesPURPOSE STATEMENT; The purpose of this role is to provide administrative and governance support to the Board, ensuring proper documentation, meeting coordination, compliance, and follow-up on Board resolutions. Duties and responsibilities will entail: Board Services Provide guidance to the Board on their duties and responsibilities and on matters of governance; Assist the Board in carrying out the following: Board members’ induction and training; updating the Board and Committee Charters; Board evaluation; Governance audit; and implementing the code of conduct and ethics; Preparing and managing the Board annual work plans; Coordinating preparation and circulation of Board and Committee meeting agendas and board papers; Preparing Board Minutes, ensuring that they are confirmed and filed; Monitoring implementation of Board decisions and preparing reports to the Board; Custodian of Board & Committee Minutes Work closely with the CEO to ensure the Board complies with governance practices, financial regulations, and statutory obligations in line with Authority policies and Kenyan laws. Support the execution of Authority documents requiring the Board of Directors’ attention. Follow up on the implementation of Board Resolutions on behalf of the CEO.  Requirements for Appointment A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution; in Business Management, Law, Administration, or its equivalent. At least eight (12) years’ work experience Proficiency in computer applications; Certified Public Secretary (CPS) (K) will be an added advantage. Membership in a relevant professional body and in good standing Certificate in Leadership Course, lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution.
