Role overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic Finance Manager to lead the finance function of our insurance brokerage and insure tech platform. The ideal candidate has strong experience in insurance finance operations, premium and commission accounting, regulatory reporting, and digital finance systems. This role will drive financial performance, strengthen internal controls, and support the integration of finance processes into our technology platform.
You will be responsible for:
Financial Management & Reporting
Lead end-to-end finance operations including premium accounting, insurer remittances, and commission reconciliation.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, IRA regulations, and KRA tax requirements.
Manage cashflow, treasury operations, and working capital.
Insurance Finance Operations
Oversee premium collections, insurer statements, and client account reconciliations.
Ensure timely settlement of insurer payables and accurate commission tracking.
Maintain accurate financial data across all insurance lines (general, medical, life).
Insurtech Platform Integration
Collaborate with product and tech teams to automate finance workflows.
Ensure data accuracy between the platform, ERP, and financial reports.
Drive digital transformation and process efficiency.
Governance, Controls & Leadership
Strengthening internal controls and risk management frameworks.
Lead and mentor the finance team (accountants, credit officers).
Support external audits and regulatory inspections.

You will require the following qualifications and skills:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
CPA/ACCA (completed or advanced level).
3 - 5 years’ experience, with at least 2 years in insurance or brokerage finance.
Strong understanding of insurance premium cycles, commissions, and insurer relationships.
Experience with accounting systems and insure tech platforms.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
